Charles Nolan Room
The High School of Fashion Industries is pleased to announce that during 2011-2012 school year 'The Charles Nolan Room' was opened as an extension of the school's library.
Charles Nolan was one of America's premier fashion designers. Mr. Nolan was a major force behind the expansion of mainstream American sportswear labels like Bill Blass, Ellen Tracy and Anne Klein. He was perhaps better known publicly for the work he did dressing private clients, including many prominent women on the political scene. Sadly, Mr. Nolan passed away at the age of 53 in January 2011.
Andrew Tobias, Mr. Nolan's long-time partner, contacted the High School of Fashion Industries about creating 'The Charles Nolan Room' - a state-of-the-art fashion design library that would archive the work of Charles Nolan, dating back to his days at the Fashion Institute of Technology, to help educate our students.
The High School of Fashion Industries is grateful to Andrew Tobias and the Nolan family for making us part of this exciting project!
